Lautoka Blues thumped Suva 2-0 in the final game of Courts Inter District Championship day one at Lautoka's Churchill Park last night.

Praneel Naidu and striker Samuela Drudru scored a goal each to set their platform for their second pool game against Tavua later tonight.

Lautoka coach Kamal Swamy said the win would inspire the side to lift their performance in their remaining pool games.

"It's satisfying to secure the maximum points and I thank the boys for their effort," he said.

"But I believe there is still room for improvement and we need to re-set our focus against Tavua."

Meanwhile, elusive Lautoka forward Dave Radregai was named the Premier Division day one best player —— selected by national coach Christophe Gamel.

The national rep was involved in the thick and thin and played a hand in Samuela Drudru's goal.

Lautoka to face Tavua at 6pm.
